All Stars

AYSO 1079 All Stars

At the end of the regular Fall season, every player registered in an AYSO region and
meeting the eligibility requirements are invited to try out for our spring All Star teams.
The top players in each division will be selected to participate.

These All-Star teams participate in coach selected weekend tournaments against other
AYSO All-Star and club teams. The program is completely self-funded by the participants.
Teams are responsible for the cost of uniforms, practice field costs,
equipment, travel expenses, and tournament entry fees.
The tournament season starts in January and is typically concluded by April.

Coaches

AYSO 1079 All Stars is a league that only plays tournaments and competes against other AYSO and Club teams in the state.  In All Stars, the kids play at a more excelled level for U10 and above.  It is a special experience for coaches, players and families to see what competitive soccer life is like.

All Star coaches need to have coached this past Fall season in the AYSO Rec league.  Coaches should be able to commit their time to two practices a week and weekend tournaments which typically occur on Saturday and Sundays and sometimes Fridays.  Typically tournament weekends are once a month, January – April.  Last season, our AYSO 1079 All Star teams participated in 5 to 6 tournaments over the season.

Management of All Star teams is 100% done by the coaches.  AYSO 1079 will help coordinate All Star uniforms and offer any advice for coaching.  Coaches are responsible for attending and managing tryouts, practices, signing up for tournaments and organizing transportation and housing at those tournaments.  Red Mountain Soccer complex will be available for All Star teams to practice during the week.

The real benefit of All Stars is to work with a team of players that you are hand selecting to work as a team.  Last year we had 32 10U girls tryout for a 12 player team.  Our region also had a 12U boys team and 14U girls team.  This makes the team even more special than rec because 100% of everyone is committed to play at that higher level.

If you are interested in coaching an All Star team, we are accepting coach applications thru 8:00 PM on October 19th, 2012.  Our AYSO 1079 coach administrator, former coach administrator and regional coordinator(s) will review applications for each division to make the selections.  Remember, you do not have to be the most experienced coach to submit your application, but you do need to be committed.   If we do not receive a coach application for a division, we will not have tryouts for that division.

Please think about it and if interested –please contact [email protected] or [email protected] for more information or to apply.
