Can my child play soccer in Region 1079?
We accept any and all children possible from age 4 through 18. Since we are a 100% volunteer region we have a limited number of players we can accept. We do our best to allow as many children as possible, but that can only happen with your help.
What are the fees to play soccer in Region 1079?
Registration fees are $80 per child, not to exceed $275.00 per family. This fee covers the uniform (jersey, socks and shorts), player insurance, a subscription to National "Soccer Now" magazine, and also registers each child with our national office.
How old must my child be to play soccer in AYSO?
A player must be
four years old, as of January 31 July 31 in
the year the child is being registered.
Can I Coach/Referee my Child?
YES! We always need additional coaches and referees for each season. the more assistance offered the more children that can play in a fun, fair, and safe environment.
We offer comprehensive training for beginning coaches and referees. We provide you with the basic knowledge to held develop soccer skills and about the laws of the game. What should we (the parents / guardians) supply?
Shin guards
(Mandatory for both practice and all games, they must be worn inside
the socks.
Shoes
Practice ball
Water bottle
All the support you
can muster
Shoes can be tennis shoes or they may have cleats, but not Baseball Cleats (those with a toe cleat.) A toe cleat is considered a safety violation. The referee shall not allow a player to participate in a match if the players shoes have a toe cleat. A toe cleat is a single cleat in the front middle of the shoe.
When and where will games be?
Please see the schedule for details on games, and the calendar about classes and other activities. Games are played from September through November. Typically all games will be at Red Mountain Park in Mesa.
When are practices?
The coach shall decide when and where to hold practices. Typically, there are one to two practices each week.
What are divisions and what do they mean?
There are seven divisions defined by the players age group. Boys and Girls play in separate divisions. They are:
U19, U16, U14, U12, U10, U8 and U6.
The U means "under" so the U10 division is comprised of players whose ages are 8 and 9 years old, as of July 31 of the year of registration.

When will my player's uniform arrive?
Uniforms are given to the team parent (or coach), and are usually handed out at practice. The uniform is not returned at the end of the season. The player keeps his / her uniform. Players must wear shin guards at practices and in the games.
